On the Monday Evenings of Advent from 19.00-20.00 in the Day Chapel in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Newmarket on Fergus. Fr. Michael will be hosting an “Introduction to Praying with Scriptures”. Each week we will be praying with the Gospel for the next Sunday, using a model of Lectio Divina based around three movements. Firstly, listening to the Gospel story and asking what did we hear? Then we will take time to see where what we have just heard, is evident or not in our own lives or in the world around us. This this leads us onto our hopes and our prayer where we ask God for whatever it is we hope for in life. No previous experience of praying with scripture is necessary or expected. We often call Jesus born at Christmas “the Word made flesh”. In these moments of prayer, we will be hoping to achieve something of this in our own hearts as we prepare for Christmas. The first evening will take place this Monday 28^th of November at 19.00
